What does it feel like to measure up and get to be a United Way agency? It's a wink from your dad, "I trust you." It's a nod from your boss, "Good job." It's a cuddle from your grandchild, "I love you." It's a fist bump from your roommate, "I'm glad you're here."
It's not easy measuring up to the expectations of the United Way. Lots of vetting. Lots of responsibility. Accountability. Reporting back. Measuring up.
We're up to the challenge. And have been for many years. We made the cut. We continue to work hard. Exceeding expectations.
Just like all the other organizations that have the honor of being called a "United Way Agency," we continue to do what we say we do - helping children and adults with intellectual developmental disabilities achieve their full potential for Independence, Productivity and Inclusion in the community.
We stick to our core competency. We check back to our mission statement. We stay out of the weeds. Eyes on the ball. Zero tolerance for anything less. Z.E.R.O.
The only thing that makes us prouder than being a United Way Agency, is being the people who San Antonio parents trust to care for their vulnerable children - 24/7/365 - for 70 years!
